Xbox One X scores a victory over the PS4 Pro
Xbox One X is reportedly outperforming the PS4 Pro in the US.
According to industry analyst Daniel Ahmad (aka ZhugeEX) told ResetEra forum members that NPD figures would suggest that the Xbox One X is performing better than the PS4 Pro.
Asked if the Xbox One X was outselling the PS4 Pro, he said: “In the US, when launch aligned, yes. The One X got off to a really good start.”
This would tally up with earlier reports in which the Xbox One X enjoyed a better debut week than the PS4 Pro.
Microsoft’s Xbox One X reportedly sold 80,000 units during its first week on sale in the UK, compared to a reported 50,000 for the PS4 Pro.
While it bodes well for the next-gen battle, Sony executives probably won’t lose too much sleep.
The Xbox One is said to be on approximately 35 million sales, while the PS4 has sold more than 75 million.
Microsoft’s swish new console launches with a £449 price tag in the UK.
The CPU is said to be 30% faster than that of the original Xbox One, while the GPU is 4.6 times more powerful than its predecessor.
The end result are games that run smoother, load faster and look better than ever before.
While this generally means that games run better on Xbox One X, the PS4 Pro has scored a surprise victory or two.
Despite the Xbox One X boasting higher specs and more power, the PS4 Pro version of Redout is said to perform better.
Eurogamer’s Digital Foundry tested the Xbox One X Enhanced version of Redout and found that it underperforms on Microsoft’s console.
Not only does the PS4 Pro version have “the edge visually”, but it also hits 60 frames-per-second more consistently.
“The bottom line is that Redout on PS4 Pro has the edge visually and makes a much better fist of hitting its 60fps target frame-rate, with Xbox One X falling short of the target in both regards,” the post reads.
The piece states that Redout is the only Xbox One X game that has no real advantage over the PS4 Pro.
