A Western Australian man has won division 1 Lotto six times over the past five years – and he says it’s more than just luck.

The man, who is in his 50s and from Maddington, is celebrating after his most recently win: a share of $658,000 by a 12-person syndicate on Saturday.

And he claims that’s the strategy that has won him an estimated $500,000 in prize money.

‘The secret is in syndicates,’ he told Perth Now.

‘Not only do I increase my chances of winning but the cost is shared among 12 of us so it’s a relatively cheap way to play.’

And he adds that he doesn’t mind sharing the winnings at all.

‘Except with my wife,’ he joked.
