The anti-alcohol diet: What YOU can eat to reverse damaging effects

Alcohol, and eating animals fats and drugs can cause liver damage and raise cholesterol.

While experts always recommend cutting out alcohol from their diet, or reducing number of units they consume, the damage can be reversed – providing it has not progressed too far.

However, for people who feel they might have over indulged, Nat Hawes, author of Nature Cures said: “The liver is the only internal human organ capable of natural regeneration of lost tissue – as little as 25 per cent of a liver can regenerate into a whole liver if minor damage occurs.

“Steer clear of fatty foods, such as butter, cheese, cream, margarine and meat.
