Thousands of people are expected to descend on the town of Windsor this weekend for the royal wedding of Meghan Markle, 36, and Prince Harry, 33.

Royal fans have already begun to camp along the procession route the bride and groom will take on their wedding day.

Look through this gallery to see the preparations taking place at Windsor Castle and the pretty English town of Windsor.

British and American flags can be seen in the streets near the castle as excitement builds for the big day and the dress rehearsal takes place.

Preparations include local residents placing pictures of the royal couple in their windows and pubs painting congratulation signs. Security barriers and portaloos have also been put in place ready for the crowds to arrive.

See pictures as the media gather to take their places and secure their camera positions on the Long Walk, the impressive three mile long avenue leading to Windsor Castle.

Floral designer Philippa Craddock, and Keeper of the Gardens, John Anderson can be seen choosing plants at Savill Garden in Windsor Great Park to be used in the floral displays at St George’s Chapel.

You will also see fans wearing royal family face masks and dressed up as the Queen’s guard.
