And that’s it from the Bernabeu. It has been the perfect afternoon for Madrid. A Cristiano Ronaldo double and goals from Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema ensured the hosts ran out emphatic 4-0 winners. They seem to have regained their confidence!

89 mins: And he finally gets on the scoresheet. Benzema brilliantly tucks the ball into the right hand corner, leaving Pacheco with no chance in the Alaves goal. It has been a great afternoon for Zidane’s side.

88 mins: The referee gives Madrid a penalty after Laguardia trips the Welshman up. Nailed on spot-kick.

85 mins: Vazquez is just inches away from getting his toe to the ball to probably score for Madrid. Bale is released down the right by Ronaldo and the winger smashes a low cross into the area but the Spaniard just can’t quite get a touch on the ball.

82 mins: Just moments after coming on, Llorente receives a yellow card for pulling Sobrino’s shirt.

81 mins: Madrid go close to making it four. Ceballos does brilliantly before offloading the ball to Bale. The Wales international smashes the ball across goal, but neither Benzema or Ronaldo can get on the end of it.

79 mins: Zidane brings on Llorente for Casemiro with 10 minutes left.

74 mins: Meanwhile, Guidetti is replaced by Burgui for Alaves.

73 mins: Zidane makes his first substitution of the match. Ceballos comes on for Kovacic with just under 20 minutes remaining.

71 mins: It’s Vazquez this time who goes close to making it four. The winger gets away a fierce right-footed shot at goal, but his effort hits the side-netting.

70 mins: Madrid are really at it today and they nearly score a fantastic fourth. Bale picks out a brilliant long-range pass to Ronaldo, but the Portuguese man can’t quite get his head on the ball. Exhibition stuff here from the hosts!

Cristiano Ronaldo reaching another milestone…

Cristiano Ronaldo is now the second player ever to score 300 goals in La Liga, doing it in 285 games.

Lionel Messi (369) the first.

66 mins: Brilliant stuff from Theo Hernandez. He runs past several Alaves player before getting a shot off at goal. However, his effort is well saved by Pacheco.

63 mins: Alaves make a double substitution. Medran and Gomez come on for Pedraza and Garcia.

62 mins: Ronaldo gets his second of the day and it’s another brilliant goal. Bale sweeps the ball to Vazquez down the right, who offloads it to Ronaldo. And the Portuguese star makes no mistake from close range, slotting the ball past Pacheco. All too easy now for Madrid!

61 mins: Alaves are desperately in need for a piece of magic and Guidetti tries to be the man to provide that spark. However, his right-footed effort from outside the area drifts well wide and over the crossbar.

Bale goal pics…

54 mins: Brilliant stuff from Bale, who is in fine form today. The Welshman tries a first-time shot from range but his curling effort drifts just over the crossbar.

51 mins: Benzema finds the net but unfortunately for him he just drifts offside in the build up to the goal. He receives the ball from Carvajal before tucking the ball home. However, the linesman adjudges him offside.

MAKE IT 101!

Ronaldo netted Madrid’s 100th goal in all competitions this season. And soon after Bale scored their 101st. Incredible from the European giants!

100 – Real Madrid are the first Spanish team to score 100 goals in all competitions this season. Hammer.

46 mins: And just like that Madrid go 2-0 up. Immediately from kick-off, Bale tucks the ball home from close range after receiving the ball from Benzema, who pounces on Alaves mistake. Too easy that for the hosts.

Second half is underway!

Ronaldo goal pics…

After two minutes of stoppage-time, the referee blows his whistle to signal the end of the first half. What a pulsating 45 minutes of football. It was end to end but Ronaldo was the man who made the difference just before half-time.

45 mins: And just like that, Alaves nearly level. Alexis smashes a first-time shot at goal but Navas does well to palm the ball away for a corner. The resulting set-piece comes to nothing.

43 mins: Finally Madrid have their breakthrough. Benzema does brilliantly to flick the ball into Ronaldo’s path inside the area and the five-time Ballon d’Or winner emphatically tucks his effort away. He receives the ball on his left foot and smashes it into the bottom corner, leaving Pachecho with no chance.

42 mins: After scoring the other day against Leganes, Casemiro has the taste for more goals. He tries a speculative effort from range, but his shot drifts just wide of the Alaves post. Good try by the Brazilian midfielder.

Sportsmail’s PETE JENSON on Ronaldo’s knock…

PETE JENSON: Ronaldo seems to have run-off his left ankle problem.

He comes into this game with 10 goals since the turn of the year. Only Aguero and Neymar have more in 2018 in Europe’s top leagues.

He is also captain today – armband always given to the player who has been at the club the longest . No Marcelo today so he’s the skipper.

37 mins: Brilliant save by Costa Rican goalkeeper Navas. He dives desperately to his left to save Pedraza’s shot. It looked like it was creeping into the bottom right corner but the Madrid man somehow manages to deny him from opening the scoring.

34 mins: Ronaldo really doesn’t look comfortable at the moment. Just moments ago, he landed awkwardly and fell to the ground momentarily. He got back up and is now trying to run it off but it doesn’t look great right now. One to watch that!

32 mins: This time it’s Guidetti who causes problems for the Madrid defence. Neat footwork from the edge of the area gives him time and space to fire a left-footed shot at goal, but his effort is comfortably saved by Navas. Non-stop here!

30 mins: Now it’s brilliant play from Alaves. Perez fires over the crossbar from the edge of the penalty area after brilliant combination with Guidetti. He should have done better there…

28 mins: It has been a great opening to the game here at the Bernabeu! Ronaldo is given plenty of space from a short corner, he then tries to bend an effort into the far corner but his shot doesn’t curl enough. The hosts are getting plenty of chances here…

25 mins: Wow Bale tries the spectacular and it nearly pays off. Benzema crosses the ball in from the left and the Welshman acrobatically performs a scissor kick. However, his effort agonisingly drifts wide just of the left post.

24 mins: Vazquez does fantastically to dribble past Alaves players with ease. He offloads it into the path of Ronaldo, who plays it across the goalmouth to Benzema but the Frenchman hits the post. Luckily for the striker, he was called offside. Madrid are getting closer!

Early action shots…

20 mins: Another Alaves player goes into the referee’s book, this time it’s Sobrino for a late foul on Carvajal.

16 mins: Ronaldo has a good chance to put his side ahead. The Portuguese star collects the ball inside the area on the left but his shot is comfortably saved by Pacheco.

And just moments later, Benzema has an even better chance to open the scoring. Zidane’s side counter following an Alaves attack. The Frenchman receives the ball on the edge of the area with only really the goalie to beat, but he slips as he tries his luck at goal, with the ball drifting well wide of the post.

Sportsmail’s PETE JENSON on the opening period…

PETE JENSON: Compact start from Alaves, who would be third in the table if the league had started in December when Alebardo Fernandez took over.

Ibai Gomez is still warming up but so far none of Alaves’ walking wounded have had to go off despite needing treatment.

Bale, by the way, starting on the left but very much not hugging the touchline. Left back Hernandez is player with the left wing to attack, Bale moving more centrally.

13 mins: Now it’s Navas who is down on the floor. The Madrid goalkeeper comes out of his goal quickly to clear the danger with Sobrino closing the ball down. And after sweeping the ball away, Navas goes down following a slight collision. However, he then gets back up to his feet quickly.

11 mins: More injury concerns for Alaves. Perez goes down awkwardly following a collision with Kovacic. The stretcher is on the pitch and this doesn’t look good for the Alaves man. However, he refuses the stretcher and limps off the field.

9 mins: Madrid go close to opening the scoring. Ronaldo collects the ball from Vazquez’s cross just inside the area after brilliant play down the right from his team-mates, but his effort is closed down and the ball goes out for a corner.

5 mins: An early yellow card to report from the Bernabeu! Hernan Perez goes in the book after a late tackle on Theo Hernandez.

4 mins: Alaves’ Alfonso Pedraza is down off the pitch near the Madrid goal. He collided with the advertising hoardings… that looked painful!

3 mins: The hosts are enjoying the early spell of possession at the sunny Bernabeu. Madrid should be very confident of winning this, they are on a decent run of form and are coming up against a side in 16th place!

1 min – Real holding on to possession

As you’d expect, Real look to attack the Alaves goal from the off. Ronaldo gets hold of the ball on the left, switches it to the right but Casemiro wastes a good chance by shooting over.

Big game for Real, and we’re now underway at the Bernabeu.
