New Rainbow Six Siege Year 3 details announced

Ubisoft have announced that Rainbow Six Siege Year 3 passes can now be purchased.

Following the launch of Operation White Noise, 2018 will see the release of new R6 Seasons, complete with the latest operators and maps.

As usual, the Rainbow Six Siege pass will offer players the chance to try out new content early, while also providing a few other “VIP” benefits.

They won’t be required to play the new content being worked on, but will allow for early access to new operators.

The year-long VIP membership will feature 7-day exclusive early access to eight new operators from Russia, France, Italy, UK, US and Morocco (releasing alongside Seasons throughout the year).

Other VIP benefits confirmed for Year 3 includes 600 Rainbow Six credits, progression boosts, customisation items and shop discounts.

As a new pre-order incentive, Ubisoft are also offering the Damascus Steel Signature weapon skin to those who order before March 5th, 2018.

And as a reward for players’ loyalty, owners of the Year 2 Pass will receive an additional 600 Rainbow Six credits when they purchase the Year 3 Pass.

Year 3 will run in four quarterly seasons that kicks off in January 2018.

Season 2 is taking place in a new location in Italy and will feature two new Italian GIS operators.

Season 3 will rework an existing map completely and have Scotland Yard and Delta Force.

While season 4 will be based in a new location in Morocco and includes two Moroccan GIGR operators.

During a recent panel, Ubisoft Montreal also teased a co-operative event called Outbreak for Rainbow Six Siege year 3.

This will include a biohazard and quarantine theme for year 3 season one – Operation Chimera.

There are two new French and Russian biohazard specialist operators coming with it, Eurogamer reported.

Ubisoft Montreal said Rainbow Six Siege fans would be fighting “against something that you might not totally expect” in Outbreak.

Rainbow Six Siege players will be able to take part in the three-player co-op Outbreak mode for free – it will run for four weeks alongside season 1.

It was recently announced by Ubisoft that Rainbow Six Siege has surpassed the 25 million registered players mark.

“Player investment has been core to the success of the game with longevity being always very important to us. As the game progressed, we continued to develop it with the community in mind,” said Alexandre Remy, Brand Director, Rainbow Six Siege.

“We’re thrilled to see that the community has embraced the game, brought along their friends, and really pushed our understanding of what’s possible with what we’ve created.”
