Prince Henrik of Denmark, husband of Queen Margarethe II, has died aged 83.
The Royal statement revealed: “His Royal Highness Prince Henrik died peacefully in his sleep Tuesday 13 February at 11.18pm, at Fredensborg Palace. Her Majesty the Queen and the two sons were at his side.”
Prince Henrik of Denmark was born Henri Marie Jean Andre de Laborde de Monpezat in France, 1934.
Henrik married Princess Margarethe, who later became Queen Margarethe II, on 10 June 1967 at the Church of Holmen, Copenhagen.
Prince Henrik and Queen Margarethe had two son together, Crown Prince Frederick, who was born in 1968 and Prince Joachim, born in 1969.

The couple have eight grandchildren; Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine from Crown Prince Frederick and Princess Mary of Denmark.
Prince Joachim of Denmark has four children from two marriages; Prince Nikolai, Prince Felix, Prince Henrik and Princess Athena.
