After two decades, the Pokemon franchise has released its 20th movie and this time they went right back to where they started.
Pokemon the Movie: I Choose You!, which received a limited UK release last week, is a remake of the very first episode of the original TV series.
The plot sees 10-year-old Ash Ketchum given Pikachu for the first time and set off on an adventure to become the world’s greatest Pokemon trainer.
However while fans were enjoying the nostalgic retread, they were outraged to discover Pikachu speaking actual English.
Pokemon fans OUTRAGED as Pikachu speaks English in new movie ‘It’s extremely f*****g weird’
One fan posted a video of the scene in question and you can hear fans in the audience howling with cries of disbelief.
The post read: “Hi, I am just learning that Pikachu speaks English in the new Pokemon movie and, yes, it is extremely f***ing weird.”
When asked by Ash why he won’t get in his Poke Ball, Pikachu replies: “It’s because I always want to be with you.”
Fans could be heard shouting, “what?!” and “no!” because the yellow Pokemon has only been able to say his name for the last twenty years.

The new Pokemon movie is the 20th in 20 years
The live action movie will see Pikachu debut as a talking CGI character.
While fans have been backing Danny DeVito to voice him, it’s currently rumoured that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is in the running.
