Klay Thompson produced a game-high 35 points in Game 6

That’s according to All-Star guard Klay Thompson after the Warriors tied the Western Conference Finals at 3-3 in California.

The Warriors claimed a 115-86 triumph at Oracle Arena to bounce back from successive defeats and force an all-important Game 7 on Tuesday (2am UK time).

But it did not come easy and Steve Kerr’s team found themselves 17 points down on home court in the first quarter and still trailing by 10 at half-time.

A sensational second-half, including a 33-point third-quarter, saw the Warriors outscore Houston 64-25 to take control with Steph Curry hitting 33 and Thompson 32.

And Thompson enthused about the intelligence and spirit that the Warriors showed to put themselves 48 minutes away from a fourth straight NBA Finals appearance.

I don’t want to go home. We’ve worked too hard this season to go home. This is what we play for.

“We played smart, or smarter, tonight,” he told NBA on TNT.

“If we take the same focus and execute the game plan like we should, I have all the confidence in the world in this team [to win Game 7].

“These are the moments you live for. You want this opportunity and it’s right there for us. We’ve got to have amnesia about tonight, get to Houston and stay focused.

“I don’t want to go home. We’ve worked too hard this season to go home. This is what we play for.

“Backs against the wall, it’s shows what you’ve made of. This feels great right now but as soon as I’m down the tunnel I’m going to forget about this game.

On the secret to their second-half turnaround, Thompson – who was nine-for-14 from three-point range – added: “Effort, intensity and passion. Those three things and playing smart.

“When we do that and we rotate and help each other, we’re the best defense team in the league.”
