According to the listing, a home of this size and splendor can never be built again due to ‘anti-mansionization codes’ in Malibu.

The living room has a one-of-a-kind 31 foot Minotti couch, which sits on top of a plush hand made rug that was custom designed.

It is also billed as the ideal home for privacy, situated at the end of a cul-de-sac on a Malibu Crest Drive, with a 400-foot-long private double gated driveway.

Outdoors, a 75-foot three-sided infinity edge pool cascades into a two-story waterfall down the side of the house that can be viewed from the screening and gaming room off the lower deck.

The property was designed with a ‘green’ philosophy, containing ‘sustainable living features’ such as lifelong anti-mold insulation to handle ocean air, a butterfly sanctuary, organic paint, and even includes a Tesla charging station.

Even down to the more minor details the home proves to ooze luxury, with its hand-built, hand-painted, and hand-sanded beams.

Unvarnished founder and designer Scott Gillen secured the giant plot of land for $9.7M in 2015, after the previous property, a ‘Scottish-style’ castle owned by Persian socialite Lilly Lawrence, burned down. Her father Reza Fallah was an adviser to the Shah of Iran who fled the 1979 Islamic revolution.

Gillen, a developer who has been based in Malibu for more than 30 years, has designed homes for celebrities and boasts a portfolio of 23 properties in 13 years.
