Cristiano Ronaldo: Real Madrid star has hinted amid talk Manchester United will go for him

Ronaldo could leave Real Madrid having propelled Los Blancos to a third straight Champions League final victory last night.

Talk of a move to Manchester United has already started to arise, with Jose Mourinho reportedly ready to mend his relationship with his former player.

When deciphering comments made by Ronaldo and Mourinho, both parties have been dropping transfer hints.

Last night, Cristiano Ronaldo said: “In the next few days I will give an answer to the fans that have always been on my side.

“It was very nice to be at Real Madrid, in the coming days I will talk about it more.”

That suggests at a move. Not necessarily to United, but a move away nonetheless.

Afterwards, however, he opened up on his comments, adding fuel to the fire.

Ronaldo remains expensive given both his breathtaking quality and sheer marketability.

That means that Manchester United, as well as PSG and clubs from China and America, have the finances to snap him up.

But Ronaldo isn’t interested in money. It’s about feeling loved. “[It] comes from afar. Money is not the problem,” he said.

“I have won five Champions League’s and five Ballon d’Ors. I had already made history, but now even more.

“I’m not upset because I know what I give to the club. I don’t want to erase this unique moment, with my colleagues who are champions.

“I cannot guarantee anything. I’m not going to hide, in the next few days I’ll talk… Life is not just about glory.”

At United, Ronaldo is loved. And, interestingly, Mourinho referenced that earlier this month.

The 55-year-old was saying a deal for the player would be difficult. Of course it would, given his importance to Real.

But, reading in between the lines, Mourinho admitted United would be there if Ronaldo chose to leave Real. Which, it seems, he now has.

He said: “I believe that Real Madrid cannot sell him, it is prohibited.

“All the people know his history in Manchester, the passion they have for him and that there are players in the world who, if the clubs have the possibility of signing, will not say no.”

It seems that, when it comes to United’s interest in Ronaldo, both parties remain fond of each other.

Yet whether Real let the 33-year-old return to Old Trafford – or go elsewhere for that matter- remains to be seen.
