Serco signs NHS trust tender
SERCO has secured a £600 million deal to manage facilities for Barts Health NHS Trust in London as it rebuilds after loss-making contracts and the prisoner tagging scandal.
The outsourcing group said it was on track to post annual revenue of about £3 billion and underlying trading profit of at least £80 million, in line with its August guidance.
Chief executive Rupert Soames said: “2016 has seen a lot of hard work and the resolution of commercial issues. We continue to make good progress with the execution of our strategy for Serco’s long-term turnaround.”
Under the Barts contract Serco will provide a range of services including cleaning, patient catering, portering and car parking.
